The Community Coalition of Osceola Water Safety (CCOWS) is a community-based organization whose target is to have ZERO drowning in Osceola County. The CCOWS is supported by many agencies in the area that want to help the CCOWS reach its target. The CCOWS strives to be the primary resource for all of Osceola residents' water safety needs.

The CCOWS' Mission: To promote, develop, and support training and community education efforts that prevent drowning, near drowning, and other water related incidents in Osceola County.

Preventing drowning, near drowning, and other water related incidents reaches beyond the individual and needs to become a community affair. Promoting the importance of water safety to a wide array of residents in Osceola, is effective if communities band together and educate their own residents.

Recreational swimming, watercrafts, scuba diving, and snorkeling are just some of the water activities that Floridians can enjoy year round. This enjoyment however, can quickly turn to tragedy when a drowning or near drowning occurs. Water related tragedies do not discriminate – they strike all ages, races and socioeconomic levels.

Together, through community action, water related tragedies will no longer become front page and television news.
